Food preservation
There is a need to ensure that stored foods remain intact over the years…

Preserving food for the long term is not only about having the right packaging to keep it safe for a long time, but more importantly, it is about proper preparation beforehand to ensure that the preserved food remains intact over the years.

In the case of freeze-dried foods, for example, there are a few key factors that must always be considered in advance to ensure long-term food quality and, consequently, good food preservation :

Residual moisture
Presence of microbes

Nutrient degradation
Rancidity

Damaged packaging
Altered internal environment

Chemical additives
Ingredient stability

It is necessary to address all of these potential problems in advance before using foods (or bulk ingredients) to prepare daily meals.

Unfortunately, it is necessary to carefully examine each ingredient one by one, especially checking labels for hydrogenated or soybean oils, as they generally have an expiration date of a few years.
It is also preferable not to use added preservatives.

Another issue with shelf-stable foods is that only oils that are highly stable over time, such as coconut oil, should be used.
In this way, you can be sure that the food will never go rancid, while ensuring that all products have a shelf life of 25 years.

The next issue is food packaging.
It is definitely preferable to use industrial grade Mylar for maximum protection and avoid cheap materials such as foil.

This also avoids the need to fight any pathogens, including pests, that might get into the supply, while ensuring good food preservation.
