December 12, 2024 Reflections of a heretic
By learning from our mistakes and facing our dark sides, we grow.
Lotus flower. Symbol of purity, enlightenment, transformation and rebirth

The lotus flower is a symbol of purity, enlightenment, transformation and rebirth.
Its roots sink into the muddy marshes.
But it is the stem that rises from the depths, then blossoms to the surface in the sunlight.
The hydrophobic leaves and petals are not stained with mud.
Water glides over them without marring their profound beauty.
Its symbolism also helps us when we face dark moments in our lives.
By learning from our mistakes and facing our dark sides, we grow and mature.
Just like the lotus flower that spreads its sweet fragrance in the middle of the swamp.
The lessons we learn and the experiences we go through then become the food that enables us to no longer be vulnerable to life’s adversities.
This means that we will be so aware of our inner strength that nothing can affect us.
We will be truly free.
