Non praevalebunt. Anything that does not kill us makes us stronger

Non praevalebunt
Non praevalebunt. In my opinion, this is the only way to truly understand the meaning of the word freedom…

Having lived through a situation like mine has taught me a lot, especially how to resist discrimination from the usual suspects.

This has made it much easier for me to resist the tortures of various governments in recent years, which have been a cakewalk by comparison.

On the other hand, anything that does not kill us makes us stronger.

For this reason, knowing that I stand for everything that is considered unworthy, the object of criticism, if not “disgusting”, to the point that looking at me makes everyone feel a little cleansed (both inside and out), is exactly what every person should feel at least once in their life.

Of course, this does not mean that we should harbor feelings of hatred towards the person who directed all those unpleasant epithets at us.

In my opinion, this is the only way to truly understand the meaning of the word freedom.

On the other hand, once everyone knows “who you are”, you no longer even have the obligation to maintain any “acquired position”, often with behavior bordering on hypocrisy.

You no longer have to conform to others in order to somehow feel part of their “group”.
In short, you no longer have to pretend or obey or fear blackmail or “snitching” of any kind.

On the other hand, what could be more despicable than me ?
According to some, there is nothing more despicable.

However, male chauvinists, egoists, bigots, racists, and fundamentalists of all kinds could never really hurt me.
Over time, I learned to build all the defenses I needed to fend off their attacks.

This was the only way I could look them straight in the eye without ever bowing my head and, most importantly, without fear of being hurt.
A person like me is like someone who has lost everything : she is free because she has nothing left to lose.

In a cultural context based exclusively on political correctness, in which those who are “different” are described as divine rejection, an error of nature, immoral and disgusting, it is finally possible to use our words to create a space of truth that can break down fences, mistrust, discrimination and, above all, social hatred.

In fact, admitting what one is helps to develop the necessary antibodies to never feel shame.
