Special people. It’s not a gift everyone possesses…
When I meet some people, even if it is for the first time, it is as if I have known them forever.
The ones who, as soon as they talk to me – about anything – I immediately see myself in their conversations and think: “I would have said that too.
They are the ones I don’t even have to communicate with because I immediately realize that they can understand me.
Both in reality and in this very special virtual world, I also occasionally get to share the privilege of their friendship.
And every time such a miracle happens, I wonder what gives them the ability to be in perfect harmony even with those who happen to cross their path.
It is not a gift that everyone has.
In fact, if I really want to be honest, I have to admit that more and more often I meet people with whom I feel no affinity, who say things I do not understand and who inevitably bore me.
However, there are special people, those who are able to connect with me, even if they are on the other side of the world.
I see them shining among all the others, and when I recognize them, I feel the joy I felt as a child chasing the first fireflies on warm summer nights, trying to capture their light.
Perhaps it is intelligence, culture, character, or simply a trivial virtue.
I have yet to find out.
But I promise to do everything I can to capture their secret and make it mine.
