January 19, 2025 Reflections of a heretic
The school certainly does not recognize the differences between those who are truly educated and prepared and those who are semi-illiterate.
It flattens everyone down.
The Role of the Teacher. The real problem is the ignorance and lack of professionalism
It is important to understand that schools now aim to teach “unlearning” rather than “learning”, first subjecting children and teenagers to intense false propaganda, first separating them from their parents and then easily “recycling” them into the system without them asking too many questions.
In fact, many say that the role of a teacher should be to “train” rather than to “teach.
In order to “train,” it is necessary to be a role model in some way in order to be credible.

But when I think back to my past as a student, it’s not that I was so different then, quite the opposite.
These are some of the “models” of teachers I had.
The first literature and Latin teacher I had was from Opus Dei.
All she did in school was to say that Dante was right to put homosexuals in hell and that every Good Friday the sky was darkened at the exact time Jesus Christ died.
Later, I had a literature and Latin teacher who was a lay priest for a very short time.
He was a very bad teacher in every respect.
He hated communists, but he was very fond of young girls.
Then a teacher who loved to flaunt her social status.
Her marriage, of course, was more important than her salary.
She was always very well dressed, designer, jeweled, and drove a nice car to class.
Later, I had a literature and Latin teacher who thought only of her political career (and indeed she was successful, later becoming mayor of an important town in the interior of Milan).
She always bragged about it.
Of course, she did nothing to interest her students in the subjects she taught in a listless way.
A philosophy professor hated girls “a priori” and often gave them bad grades, even when they showed that they were prepared.
However, he would lure boys (he preferred blond, blue-eyed boys) to his apartment to watch gay porn.
The following year, for a couple of weeks, a philosophy professor came into class, sat down at his desk, literally said “Don’t break my balls” and then opened the newspaper without stopping to read it.
Of course, this was his second job.
And I could go on and on.
What am I saying ?
I do not agree at all that a teacher should be a model for his students.
Education and values should be transmitted primarily by parents (or guardians).
A teacher can do no more than provide didactic preparation and teach respect for the rules.
He cannot (and will never be able to) take the place of a mother (or father) and become a role model.
The real problem is the ignorance and lack of professionalism of many teachers.
This situation discredits the whole profession.
The school does not recognize the difference between those who are truly trained and prepared and those who are semi-literate.
It pushes everyone down.
Exactly what the “modern” education system wants to destroy more and more.
Meritocracy.
